The 12-hour timelapse shows flight traffic that included United Airlines, Delta Airlines and American Airlines, slowing down during the outage, that also affected banks and media outlets.
Airports and airlines around the globe warned of delays and cancellations or switched to manual check-ins, with some halting flights.
Services from airlines to healthcare, shipping and finance were coming back online later on Friday, however, delays and cancellations were expected to persist throughout the day, as airlines try to fully recover from the impact of the outage that upended their flying schedules and affected thousands of passengers.
