The Amarillo Police Department had officers working at the scene of a fatal crash in the area of I-40 and Eastern around 4:53 a.m. Wednesday. “The lanes traveling eastbound are blocked for us to complete our investigation. We ask the community to find an alternative route until the area is cleared,” the community bulletin said.
At around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Amarillo Police Department notified the public that the crash site had been cleared and traffic was back to normal. An update is expected to be released with more details later this morning.
